Strengths & Risks of Purple Style Labs IPO
Strong multi-brand luxury fashion platform: Purple Style Labs has built a large portfolio of designer brands and operates under the established Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop platform.
Diversified product portfolio: The company offers womenswear, menswear, jewellery, accessories and kidswear, with a particular focus on wedding and occasion wear.
Omni-channel presence: The combination of Experience Centers, digital platforms, mobile applications and other sales channels gives the company multiple customer acquisition and sales avenues.
International expansion: Experience Centers in London and New York provide the company with an established physical presence outside India and support its international customer base.
Large designer network: Relationships with 1,109 active designer brands provide product variety and can strengthen the platform's appeal to luxury fashion customers.
Company is not profitable: Purple Style Labs reported a consolidated loss after tax of Rs. 285.40 crore in FY2026, compared with a loss of Rs. 188.38 crore in FY2025. Its losses have increased significantly in recent years.
Negative net worth: The company's net worth declined to negative Rs. 52.28 crore as of March 31, 2026, compared with positive net worth of Rs. 117.50 crore in FY2025.
Rising borrowings: Total borrowings increased sharply from Rs. 112.79 crore in FY2025 to Rs. 371.40 crore in FY2026. Higher borrowing can increase financial pressure on the company.
Weak profitability ratios: The company reported negative ROCE of 23.56% and negative PAT margin of 51.16% for FY2026, reflecting its current lack of profitability.
IPO proceeds are substantially allocated to lease liabilities: Of the stated issue proceeds, Rs. 371.13 crore is proposed to be invested in wholly owned subsidiary PSL Retail towards lease liabilities of Experience Centers and back-end offices in India. This means a significant portion of the capital will be used for existing infrastructure-related obligations.
