Karamtara Engineering Limited, incorporated in 1996, is a manufacturer of products used across the renewable energy and power transmission sectors. Its portfolio includes solar mounting structures such as fixed-tilt systems and tracker components, lattice towers for transmission lines, and fasteners used in solar, wind, transmission, automobile and telecom applications. The company is also expanding into the wind energy segment through a planned manufacturing facility for tubular wind turbine towers. With exports to more than 50 countries across North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and Latin America, Karamtara has developed a broad international presence. Its backward-integrated manufacturing setup, including in-house galvanizing facilities and rolling mill furnaces, supports greater control over production, costs and delivery timelines. The company served 48, 73 and 65 customers for its solar products during FY2024, FY2025 and FY2026, respectively.
Strong Position in Solar Manufacturing: The company has an integrated manufacturing presence in solar mounting structures and tracker components, giving it capabilities across multiple requirements of solar projects.
Diversified Product Portfolio: Karamtara manufactures solar structures, transmission towers and industrial fasteners, allowing it to serve multiple applications across renewable energy, power transmission and other industries.
Global Export Presence: The company exports its products to more than 50 countries across several major geographical regions, providing a wider customer and market base beyond India.
Backward-Integrated Operations: In-house galvanizing facilities and rolling mill furnaces provide greater control over key manufacturing processes and can support cost efficiency, supply-chain management and delivery timelines.
Improving Financial Performance: The company reported growth in both revenue and profitability in FY2026. Revenue increased by around 36% and PAT increased by around 64% compared with FY2025.
Higher Debt Levels: Total borrowings increased from Rs. 556.28 crore in FY2025 to Rs. 1,030.13 crore in FY2026, while the debt-to-equity ratio also increased from 0.57 to 0.84.
Dependence on Renewable Energy and Transmission Markets: A significant part of the company's business is linked to solar, wind and power transmission infrastructure. Changes in government policies, project activity or industry demand could affect business performance.
Customer Concentration Risk: Although the company serves customers across multiple markets, fluctuations in the number of customers served for solar products indicate that customer composition can change from year to year.
Valuation Risk: At the upper IPO price band, the post-IPO P/E is stated at 35.72 times, which means investors are paying a relatively significant valuation for the company's earnings.
Execution Risk from Expansion: The company's entry into wind turbine tower manufacturing will require successful execution of the new facility and development of demand in the new business segment.
