Bonfiglioli Transmissions Ltd. is a technology-driven manufacturer of mechanical and electro-mechanical power transmission equipment and industrial drive solutions. The company develops precision-engineered gearboxes, gear motors and drive systems used in industrial automation, off-highway mobility and wind energy applications. Its product portfolio includes helical, bevel, planetary and worm gearboxes, electric motors, variable frequency drives, servo motors and precision drives for robotics and automation. These products support applications where reliable power transmission, operational efficiency and precise motion control are essential.
The company operates three manufacturing facilities in India, located at Thirumudivakkam and Mannur in Tamil Nadu and Talegaon in Maharashtra. During Fiscal 2025, these facilities produced more than 341,133 gear motors and gearboxes. Its distribution and service network includes sales offices, authorised dealers and third-party service facilities, enabling the company to support customers across multiple industrial markets. Backed by its established global parentage, research and development capabilities, manufacturing infrastructure and relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), Bonfiglioli Transmissions serves customers requiring specialised industrial drive technologies.
The company reported total income of Rs. 2,023.59 crore and profit after tax (PAT) of Rs. 237.87 crore for the year ended December 31, 2025. For the six months ended June 30, 2026, it reported total income of Rs. 1,139.17 crore and PAT of Rs. 148.58 crore. Its business model combines industrial equipment manufacturing with technical support and after-sales services, allowing it to serve customers across different industries and applications.
Broad Industrial Applications: The company's products are used in several industrial environments, including automation machinery, off-highway equipment and wind energy systems. This provides exposure to multiple end-use markets.
Established Production Capacity: The company has three manufacturing facilities in India and a track record of producing industrial transmission equipment at scale. This provides an existing operational base for serving customer demand.
Technical and Engineering Capabilities: Its portfolio includes specialised drive and motion-control products that require engineering knowledge and product development capabilities. These requirements can make technical expertise an important competitive factor.
Nationwide Service Infrastructure: A network of sales offices, authorised dealers and service facilities supports customer access and after-sales assistance across India. This infrastructure can help maintain customer relationships after equipment sales.
Improving Annual Profit Figures: The company's reported PAT rose from Rs. 195.16 crore in 2024 to Rs. 237.87 crore in 2025. Investors can assess this improvement alongside operating cash flows, revenue growth and future earnings visibility.
Cyclical Nature of Industrial Markets: Demand for industrial equipment can fluctuate with economic conditions, capital expenditure and manufacturing activity. A slowdown in customer industries could affect order volumes and profitability.
Exposure to Input Costs: Changes in the prices and availability of raw materials, components and other production inputs may affect manufacturing expenses. The company's ability to manage these changes can influence operating margins.
International Supply Chain Dependence: The company relies on suppliers located in India and overseas. Logistics disruptions, import restrictions, currency movements or supplier-related issues could affect procurement and production.
Competitive Pressure: Domestic and international manufacturers compete in the industrial drive solutions market. Pricing pressure, product innovation and changing customer requirements could affect the company's market position.
Offer for Sale Structure: Since the IPO does not include a fresh issue, the company will not receive funds from the transaction. The offer primarily provides an opportunity for the selling shareholder to reduce its stake.
