Strengths & Risks of Hd Fire Protect IPO
Strong Certification Track Record: HD Fire Protect has developed a significant certification portfolio, with 21 UL Listed and 87 FM Approved products as of September 2026. Such certifications can be important in fire protection equipment because customers and large projects often require products to meet recognised safety and performance standards.
Diversified Product Portfolio: The company offers solutions across multiple fire protection categories, including sprinklers, deluge systems, foam equipment, monitors, nozzles and gas suppression systems. This broad portfolio allows it to address different application requirements across industrial and commercial projects.
International Market Presence: HD Fire Protect has exported products to more than 90 countries since inception. International operations provide the company with access to overseas markets and reduce its dependence on a single geographical market.
Established Customer Base: The company supplied products to 2,066 customers during Fiscal 2026. Its experience with large industrial and infrastructure projects, along with long-standing customer relationships, provides an established base for its operations.
Consistent Financial Performance: The company's revenue from operations increased from Rs. 372.95 crore in FY2024 to Rs. 489.28 crore in FY2026. PAT also increased from Rs. 87.92 crore to Rs. 116.79 crore during the same period, indicating continued profitability.
Entire Issue is an OFS: The IPO is completely an Offer for Sale, meaning the company will not receive any funds from the issue. Therefore, IPO proceeds cannot be used by HD Fire Protect for expansion, working capital requirements, debt repayment or other corporate purposes.
High IPO Valuation: At the upper price band, the company's post-issue P/E is indicated at around 49.72x based on the provided IPO data. Investors should compare this valuation with the company's earnings growth, financial ratios and listed peers before considering the issue.
Decline in Key Return Ratios: The company's ROE, ROCE and RoNW were significantly lower for the period ended June 30, 2026 compared with FY2026. ROE declined from 30.17% in FY2026 to 6.13% for the June 2026 period, while ROCE declined from 40.33% to 8.36%. Investors should assess whether these changes are temporary or reflect a broader shift in operating performance.
Dependence on Industrial and Project-Based Demand: A significant part of the company's business is linked to industrial, infrastructure and specialised fire protection requirements. Changes in capital expenditure, project execution schedules or demand from sectors such as oil and gas, energy and heavy engineering could affect business performance.
Promoter Share Sale: The IPO involves the sale of shares by existing promoter shareholders. Since the issue does not raise fresh capital for the company, investors should consider the purpose and implications of the promoter-level stake sale while evaluating the offering.
