MCX Settlement Holidays 2026

Settlement holidays are days when the exchange is open for trading, but the clearing banks are closed. Therefore, no settlement of funds or commodities takes place on these days.

MCX Trading Time

    Normal Session:

  • Morning session: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Evening session: 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM or 11:55 PM.
  • Agricultural Products with International Connections: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM or 9:30 PM.
  • During daylight saving time in the US, which typically begins in spring, MCX adjusts its trading hours. The trade closing time for internationally referenced non-agriculture commodities is extended from the regular 11:30 PM to 11:55 PM.

    Additionally, trade modifications can be made until 11:59 PM, and the position limit/collateral value set-up cut-off time is also extended to 11:59 PM.

    Commodity market time is divided into two sessions - morning and evening. The morning session starts at 9:00 AM and lasts till 5:00 PM. The evening session is from 5:00 PM to 11:30/11:55 PM.

    Agri-commodities are available for futures trading up to 5:00 PM. whereas other commodities such as Bullions, Metals and Energy products are available up to 11:30 PM/11.55 PM

    Special Session:

  • Monday to Friday : 8:45 AM to 8:59 AM

A special Session (order cancellation session) is held to cancel the pending orders prior to the opening of the market.

The Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) is a state-of-the-art, commodity derivatives exchange that facilitates online trading of commodity derivatives transactions, thereby providing a platform for price discovery and risk management. The Exchange, which started operations in November 2003, operates under the regulatory framework of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
