About Jupiter Life Line Hospitals Limited

They are among the key multi-specialty tertiary and quaternary healthcare providers in the Mumbai Metropolitan Area (MMR) and western region of India with a total bed capacity of 1,194 across three hospitals. Currently they operate three hospitals under the “Jupiter” brand in Thane, Pune and Indore, with an operational bed capacity of 950 beds and 961 beds and 1,306 doctors including specialists, physicians and surgeons. They are also currently developing a multi-specialty hospital in Dombivli, to accommodate over 500 beds and has commenced construction in April 2023.  Thane and Indore hospitals are amongst the few hospitals in the western region to provide neuro rehabilitation services through a dedicated robotic and computer-assisted neuro rehabilitation centre.

Health personal expenditure in India increased from Rs.1,813 billion to Rs.4,135 billion from Fiscal 2012 to Fiscal 2022 supported by rise in government schemes, health spending by state, rise in income levels, rise in disease incidence. The expenditure rose at 15.1% CAGR. In 2020, India's expenditure on healthcare was 3.0% of GDP. As of 2020, India’s healthcare spending as a percentage of GDP trails not just developed countries, such as the US and UK, but also developing countries such as Brazil, Nepal, Vietnam.

India has one of the highest shares of out-of-pocket expenditure in healthcare; however, the government aims to increase public healthcare expenditure to 2.5% to 3% of GDP by 2025.

‘All-hub-no-spoke’ model: : Each of the 3 hospitals is a full-service hospital, where each hospital is independent, individually well-equipped with skilled healthcare professionals as well as advanced infrastructure to serve the patients, right from diagnostics to surgery and rehabilitation.
Retain Skilled Healthcare Professionals: : They are Great Place to Work® certified 2019-20, and Thane hospital has received awards for ‘Excellence in Workplace Management’ and ‘Excellence in Change Management’ at the CHRO Vision and Innovation Summit & Awards 2021. In addition, in July 2023,they received the ‘Maharashtra State – Best Employer Brand Awards 2023’ at the 18th Employer Branding AwardsTM.
Operational Performance: : Revenue from operations have significantly increased by 50.80% from Rs 486.1 Cr in Fiscal 2021 to Rs 733.1 Cr in Fiscal 2022 and further by 21.75% to Rs 892.5 Cr in Fiscal 2023. The EBITDA margin was 14.54%, 21.35% and 23.45% respectively.
Regional Concentration: : Their revenues are significantly dependent on our hospital in Thane. Further, all our hospitals are located in the western regions of India. Any impact on the revenues of our Thane hospital or any change in the economic or political circumstances of western India could affect the business.
Dependence on Medical Professionals:: They are highly dependent on healthcare professionals including doctors and nurses, and any future inability to attract/ retain such professionals due to high competition can adversely affect the business.
Capital Intensive Business: : They incur high expenses for medical equipments, manpower, infrastructure maintenance, ancillary items and pharmaceuticals. Any inability to obtain favourable pricing from suppliers or negotiate compensation of healthcare professionals effectively could affect profitability.
Public Interest Litigation: : Certain public interest litigations have been initiated against them for the land on which Thane Hospital is situated. In the event that any adverse orders are pronounced, it can impact business operations
